Mandarin Products

The Mandarin orange is smaller than the common orange. The taste is considered less sour, as well as sweeter and stronger. The peel is very thin, with very little bitter albedo, making them easy to peel and to split into segments in the fresh fruit market. The Mandarin is tender and is damaged easily by cold and is grown in the California Central Valley and south. Of the original varieties of Mandarins in California, the Satsuma is most familiar along with other tangerine hybrids such as Kinnow, Tangors, Clementine, Murcott and Fairchild.
